6 Days House Cleaning

I  thought maybe my freedom seeking was causing stress for my grandmother. I do not mean to, but my room is very messy and I do not help with housework. So, I talked with grandpa and asked him. He said that grandma was having a hard time adjusting to having a child in the house again. He said she did not want to say anything because I miss my mother so much. Two weeks ago I would have said "I am no child. I go to college and do what I want just like a grown person". Instead, I asked him what I could do. He said to talk with grandma.

I did that. We talked about many things, but not cleaning up. When we were done, I said that I wanted to help and would do the dishes if she could vacuum. We have a dish washer, but I would still need to rinse, run and put away. Grandma smiled and her face relaxed like water on a still lake. That made me very happy.

So, maybe you could have your grandpa or father talk with your children. Then, they will talk with you. I  am sure that your children are made of the same beautiful spirit as you. They are just not thinking much about their messes.

I plan to help all day today so that my 6th day free will be a happy one.
